Sudarshan Sivaramakrishnan (MathWorks)
Bio: Sudarshan Sivaramakrishnan is a Principal Software Engineer at MathWorks, part of the RF/EM team, where he drives the development of AI capabilities across the RF and antenna product portfolio, including Antenna Toolbox, RF Toolbox, and RF Blockset. The scope of his contributions spans cross-disciplinary workflows, automation infrastructure, and an overall focus on unified frameworks and generalizable recipes for out-of-the-box solutions that equip non-AI-expert antenna and RF engineers to harness state-of-the-art AI techniques. His work also encompasses core algorithms, platform integration (code generation, deployment), and cross-domain system-level solutions for electromagnetic analysis, model-based design, and AI-accelerated optimization of RF systems. He regularly publishes and presents on applied machine learning and deep learning for antennas and RF at major IEEE conferences, journals, and industry venues. Recently, his article in Microwave Journal on the systematic use of AI for antenna engineering was recognized as top-2 most-viewed in 2025. Sudarshan holds a PhD, MSE, and BSE in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Mathematics, all from the University of Michigan, with doctoral research in nonlinear optics and coupled laser dynamics.
Sekhar Rajendran (MathWorks)
Bio: Sekhar Rajendran (Member, IEEE) is a Senior Application Engineer in the RF and Mixed-Signal team at MathWorks, where he supports customers in developing workflows for RF, antenna, and electromagnetic system design, analysis, and validation using MATLAB and Simulink. He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo, SUNY, USA, in 2021, the M.Tech. degree from the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, India, in 2014, and the B.Tech. degree from the Cochin University of Science and Technology, India, in 2008. Prior to MathWorks, he worked as a Network Subsystem Engineer at Sasken Technologies Ltd. (2009-2011) and served as an Assistant Professor at Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology, India (2015-2016). His work focuses on antenna and array modeling, RF PCB and EM simulation, measurement-to-model correlation, and system-level RF/communications co-simulation for end-to-end performance evaluation.
